Hope this finds you and your family well. As you know, we are having some tough times.
Sandy hit Red Hook severely though luckily no life was lost locally (to the best of my knowledge). We were lucky. 2012’s last show closed the week before Sandy hit. We removed all the artwork on exhibit before Sandy washed five feet of water through destroying all the exhibition walls.
Last weekend we saw a phenomenal outpouring of volunteers. They helped us clean out all the trash and the soaked sheet rock walls. Now the reconstruction begins.
This coming weekend NYU students are having an exhibition in our space to support us, noon-4PM each day, with a $5 suggested admission, with all the proceeds going to BWAC recovery. They will also be helping out with the reconstruction downstairs at the same time.
We hope 2013 shows will open as scheduled and that we see you next year.
Please check our website bwac.org for future updates.
