At its anniversary gala at the Terrace on the Park in Flushing Meadows Corona Park last Tuesday, QCP honored Borough President Melinda Katz, Kam Wong and Michael Landi for their contributions to ensuring the independence of individuals with developmental disabilities in Queens.
“I look around this room and see so many people who have dedicated their lives, their money, their passion, to this borough,” Katz said. “This is an organization that services not only people with disabilities, but the entire family who is affected by the need for services. The families that you touch here at QCP have better lives.”
Janet, a QCP resident, also spoke at the gala and expressed her gratitude for the support services provided to her family by the organization.
“I live at the Bellerose QCP,” she said. “I have been at QCP a long time, and I am so happy to live with my mother. In my home, we are a happy family. Thank you.”
