Delicious smells from food vendors of all kinds filled the air as people walked through booths selling everything from clothes and jewelry to VHS tapes and kitchen supplies. Bouncy houses and carnival rides attracted children who were decorated with face paint, and adults relaxed with pints of locally brewed beer. Some danced in the street to music provided by bands and DJs.
Alice Southgates attended the fair for the first time with her daughter Orla, after having moved to Park Slope 11 months ago from London. “It’s a family area with plenty to do and plenty of other parents around,” she said. “The fair is great. There seems to be a lot of events going on seasonally here.”
