The Fitness Detective, a personal training center, has been added to the many businesses inside the historic One Station Square. The center held its opening night celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. with food and drinks for new members and their guests.
Janette La Sota, the fitness coach who started The Fitness Detective, said the concept for the gym arose out of her previous line of work.
“Basically I’m a retired detective and I decided a couple years back to become a personal trainer, La Sota said. “I really have a passion for fitness and helping people. And I thought this would be the best transition from working as a civil servant to taking something that I love, which is working out and leading a healthy lifestyle and teaching people how to do that.”
Using her experience as a detective, La Sota has created an extremely unique facility. La Sota performs extensive research on each client’s body type, their allergies, their goals and whether those include weight loss or endurance. She even makes sure to inquire into members’ personal preferences and tendencies to formulate a perfect diet and workout plan.
“Really, the premise here is that this is a community of people, so I encourage all my clients to get to know each other and work together for their goals,” La Sota said. “I try to make it very personalized and I really make sure that that is taken into account.”
La Sota is excited about the future of her new business, and for the warm weather, so she can take clients to the nearby Flagpole Park for outdoor exercises, yoga and more.
