The same Jackson Heights basement apartment that was robbed on July 23 by four men was hit again last week, this time by two armed suspects who pretended to be police officers to gain entry to the apartment.

On Friday, August 2, the two men knocked on the door just after 8 p.m. and identified themselves as officers. Once inside, they zip tied the two victims. During the struggle, one of the victims was shot in the leg.

Spooked, the suspects fled the scene empty handed, while the wounded man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

Cops believe the pair were part of a four-man crew that robbed the same apartment on July 23. At approximately 5 p.m., the group went through the unlocked front door, surprising two teenagers who were home at the time. With one of the suspects flashing a gun, the group made off with cash and jewelry.

In addition to releasing surveillance photos from the first incident, police have released a video of the two suspects wanted for the second robbery. Residents can leave anonymous tips at (800) 577-TIPS.
